I WISH THE WORLD RAINS DOWN ON GHANA POLICE

pal dear,

u must be wondering what i mean. i mean what the hell is wrong with the decision makers of Ghana Police? or is some block-headed fellow stupidly sitting in some dark corner and turning his wishes into 'decrees'?

I mean why should the Ghana police think that it is prudent to ban demonstrations during the cause of the AU summit in Accra? Do the police even have the constitutional backing for such a crazy directive?

and what is it that is wrong with this primitive Akrofi of a Police (Accra Regional Police Commander, Douglas Akrofi Asiedu) who says this is africa and not Europe and therefore there should be no demo? this chap is simply building for himself an image of such uncivilized attributes! i guess i would love to pose in a photo with this chap for the records. what?

i mean pal, the issues are too confusing i just don't see the head or tail. i mean how? come Ghana@50, they banned demonstrations and now AU summit too.

but u see pal, let them continue. just let them continue and the day will come soon when after the people are saturated with built up pressure, the explosion would naturally follow. it's just a matter of natural course and no man born of woman can stop that. not anymore the primitive Akrofi!!!

why? there is the case of Darfur, there is the case of Somalia, there is the case of Zimbabwe (both for and against Mugabe and the land reforms) and even my own fellow Ghanaians have issue with the Gambia (for doing nothing about the killing of 44 Ghanaians in 2005) and of course the issue of Africa Unity --'the grand debate-they call it'. Too many people (including yours truly) think there is too much feet dragging (if even it was just one soul - that fellow has every right to demonstrate) and they want to express themselves. so why stop them!

mE whish pal, that the whole world rained on Ghana police so they see if they can stop them. and the ridiculus irony of all. they claim that they would have too much on their hands during the AU summit to deal with hence the need to stop all demos. Yet they are ready to arrest any number prostestors! me wish pal, that the whole world rained on Ghana police expressing themselves freely and legally!

too much confusion pal. have a nice weekend.
Africa must Unite!

The Tiger and her Tigerians

pal dear,

In the news today, Ghana strikes oil!!!

I had a very busy Monday today but I could just not finish this day without a comment on the loud noise about the oil discovery in Ghana.

kuffour says something to the effect hence that: ...his joy will be that he is remembered as the president under whose tenure oil was found to spark development in Ghana... and what do i say...? i say: "mine o mine! what a JAK we have for a president". See what pal, under this same prez of a JAK, Ghana qualified for the football world cup for the first time. where is the big deal? maybe we are being told with all the "screams of hurray" that the destiny of this country must be entrusted into the hands of some 'JAKs and CO who "are born" with sheer luck'! we don't need people with brains? NO? ...maybe!

i hope that is not the case. i sincerely hope so. why? I felt happy too (to some measured extent) on hearing the news and why not? money means a lot in this artificial world. but you see pal, i would have been very disappointed if all Nkrumah had to tell Ghanaians about his legacy was that his joy was that 'he would go down in history as the one under whose leadership the Gold Coast gained independence and became Ghana'. and what would i have said in response...? "i would have said..."and so what the FUCK?" Thank God Nkrumah did no such USELESS BOASTING.

In fact, Nkrumah went on to rather charge us all to pay heed that "...the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total liberation of the African continent". Pal, how about that for a worthy note? the point is that there was a clear agenda. and mind you, i'm not claiming that the JAK prez should declare in any odd fashion that " the discovery of Ghana oil is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total discoveries of the African oils". that would be meaningless see!

LET THE MESSAGE GO TO ALL LOUD AND CLEAR THAT THE MERE DISCOVERY (OR THE DRILLING OF; OR EVEN THE CASHING OF MONEY FROM) OIL 'waa waaa waaaa' DOES NOT GUARANTEE DEVELOPMENT!!!

and here I'm not the one to tell you about the sad (yes very sad) case of Nigeria and the like.

again the prez of a JAK says now Ghana will fly and become the Tiger of Africa. and what do I say in response...? I joke...i say "now Ghanaians will become tigerians". hahahaaaaa!

but you see pal, i can't take anything away from anyone who thinks he/she must chant and dance for us to see that there has been some 'magic' discovery.
and oh! i won't be surprised at all if before long the JAK of a president appoints a minister of oil.

by the way, I am not a pessimist at all. I just believe we should care for one another.

i pray for the best pal.... i pray for the best!!!

Fathia 'fata' Nkrumah

pal dear,

she was the wife of the great african! Kwame Nkrumah! great human being!

she died...and she was just granted her wish of being buried in Ghana (on June 12th 2007).

The government of Ghana agreed that she be laid to rest by her husband's side at the Kwame Nkruman Mausoleum in Accra.

hold on!

i need to retell the story because it is actually more touching and deep than i paint it.

well so it came to past. and what did i not suddenly see? unrepentant followers of the crazy "danquah/busia" political tradition putting up faces only to please who? me? sorry to all of them 'cos we wont be fooled at all. No!!! not when they are too ready to defend and actually create 'by-force' heroes out of those CIA agents and saboteurs of our very democracy (they same democracy they claim to be champions of).

They are the ones who ensured Nkrumah did not even live long...let alone stay long in office. and when he is dead and gone and buried too they still want to bring him down. For example, can any of them explain how come the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra remains in a deplorable state while all the circles named after such CIA agents are being refurbished and brightened in the name of Ghana@50? they are just a JOKE!!! so let me not even waist my precious time on them pal. the likes of them...kuffour and all must bow down their heads in shame! shame on them!!!

For me the fact that the late Fathia today has her remains lying by that of her late husband only tells me more and more that really, really, really... Fathia 'fata' Nkrumah!

pal dear, it is Friday again you know... Cheers!!!

WOOD or Human ? or Promises ?

lon tam pal!

yeah pal dear, it's been a long time! i feel it in my soul. o000000000h!

anyway, so all things being equal Ghana would end up having the first ever female Chief-Justice in the person of Wood (not 'a WOOD')! and so the fuck what? but i hear loud noises from so called women groups. INDEED!!! what has being a woman got to do with delivering JUSTICE for mankind that a man lacks!

I am not against women. NO! my mother is a woman (as if you need to be told). But i detest feminists' tendencies that seem to only put men in a light that portrays them as the enemies of women. i don't believe in only women and i don't believe in only men. i believe in human beings!

So lets Just welcome Wood. be it that she comes to deliver justice or not only time will tell. and do i hear that she has ever assisted her father to render some woman homeless...well time will tell...and what about the Georgina Wood "cocaine" Committee...where are the missing cocaine?...well, again time will tell...and that holds no promise about being man or woman. time alone!

Pal, i'm just not one to be taken on a fantacy ride by one who holds himself in a position of trust. No. i will refuse it. my soul would not even alow it. Let alone me allowing myself to have my sight whitewashed so i only see what looks nice. NO!!! there is too much rot to be glossed over.

What did i hear Kuffour tell the G8-summit? That what?...that G8 members must deliver on their promises to Africa? That Africa expects that from them? well, i wonder if men like him have conscience enough. i really wonder. (and i don't want to talk about what promise the so called G8 have for Africa-- i won't go there!).

Talk of contradictions! Why? this was the same man who not too long ago claimed Zimbabwe was an embarrassment to the continent whilst in his own country Ghana, Police too took on opposition members and beat some well...well...well for demonstrating against some "stupid law by our current circumstances" that is supposed to allow all Ghanaians resident outside the country to vote at their various countries of residence. FUCK!!!

How different is that from what happened in Zimbabwe?-At least I did not see Mugabe beat up anyone personally. i did not hear! did you? neither did i see Kuffour do so too. Yet Kuffour shamelessly claims Zimbabwe is an embarrassment! so where is the conscience? A moral question mark. period.

Has he Kuffour delivered on his promises to his poeple of Ghana? does he know what Ghanaians expect from him? well, i have not forgotten how recently he promised to deliver us from the 'dark' in just a matter of a fortnight with electricity supplied to us from Obasanjo and the troubled Ivory Coast. NO, i have not forgotten and i will never forget!

so much for now pal. all the promises drive me crazy!

Thank God it's Friday Again!
