Ghana@Blackout

or should i say Ghana@50@Blackout!

well, i have to be fast with this write up before the electricity goes off my dearest!

hardly had we finished with the pomposity and the extravagant expenditures and all the Queens wine before realizing how stupid we have been. or have we yet? at least i do realise how stupid some have been! very stupid heads we have indeed! they let us see how they know best to put the cart before the horse!

to them, there's no meaning to the word priority. no, not at all. not when you have them building a Gigantic presidential palace, felling trees and in their places building statues of CIA agents and saboteurs of our dear land, buying luxury cars in counts of fifties per each make - Jaguars, Cryslars, Mercedez, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!!!

I am just so irritated by parading-bigots who don't have the needed head to even mobilize our energies in this country of our death to find solutions to our lack of electrical power!

Did I hear kuffour the other day saying something to the effect that we had presented to us under Nkrumah's leadership a picture of an 'almighty-akosombo dam' (emphasis mine) that was to see to our energy needs till eternity? where was he kuffour when the atomic energy project was started at Kwabenya under the leadership of Nkrumah?. does he know when it was started and for which purpose therefore? spare me the petty politics and give space for some level headed solution-seeking discussions. hear me?

somebody tell this group of cheapened-power-wielding bigots to shut up on all the lies if they have no clues on how to solve our energy problem. these are people who 'loud-mouthed' the length and breadth of this land claiming "we have the men" to solve our problems.

so bring on your men now or shut up and give way.

nonsense!

Ghana@50 and the self praiz!

dearest,

don't be surprised dat i'm spending so much time on ghana@50. it is the loudest stuff in town still as the prez continues on a track of self praiz and artificial face-lifts just to get some recognition! he has done so so and so, constructed roads, took us to hipc, giving us good governance whilst making sure that 'freedom and justice ARE working'.

have u seen the advert pal? The prez says in clear reference to our motto: Freedom and Justice, that "freedom and justice are working" huh! look out for that Ghana@50 ad my friend. i bet you'd definately see Freedom with a cutlass in hand and Justice with a hoe... damn! the two folks are working their asses off for real!

well, they say if you don't blow your own horn, nobody will do it for you so i see it is the character of this prez! i mean less than a week after he was handed the AU chairmanship he had a GIGANTIC bill board mounted near his house at the Tetteh-Quarshie interchange with his photo and the inscription: "Congratulations AU chairman, we are proud our you" (i wonder who and who) obviously to congratulate and praiz himself on behalf of the people of Ghana and of course on his on behalf.

well, today is friday, it's just crazy that i am 'fortuned' to have this GIGANTIC BILL BOARD hit my face almost every morning.

well, i just need not say we deserve better!

cheers!

Ghana@50 part III (Dining with the queen)

Dearest,

i have been watching this whole 'noise' called Ghana@50. Interesting happenings iNdEEd!! and while the Ghana prez thinks to dine with the queen is one of the best happenings ever in the 50 long years of Ghana, i dare to ask: where are the jaguars? did they come or did they go?

oh no! pardon me if you will, BUT i really wanted to ask: where is the electricity? where is the light?

so ...................................did we come or did we go?

Ghana@50 part II (and my soccer instincts)

dear ONE,

So why would a state celebrating it's 50th anniversary of 'freedom' (or independence) be too ready (in a manner of sharp contrast) to deny it's own citizens the simple right to demonstrate how they would prefer to celebrate the same independence anniversary other than what the government executives of the day propose. sheer contrast right!

I am talking about the CJA's planned independence march! and I am talking about the attempt by the powers that be to use the judiciary to cripple freedom of expression (don't you mention the rule of law! no don't! just don't!). It's interestingly vital to note that as part of the struggle to gain independence from the colonial masters, boycots and demonstrations even at the peril of peoples lives were employed - and the result of all these we seek to celebrate? INDeeD!

is it all the case that someone is having some dizzy funky feelings and does not want to be embarassed? well...well...well...

i would just end here.

My soccer love!
and oooooooh! Drogba is the African footballer of the year 2006? did they say 2006? how do people come to this conclusions? well congrats Drogba but sincerely with the performance of Eto'o in the year 2006 (and i mean the year 2006) I don't think you deserved it more than he did. he won La-Liga with the top scorer award, won UEFA Champions League with a noteworthy goal in the final and he was also top scorer at the African Cup of nations; all with splendid performances.

Drogba was not even top scorer for his Chelsea club in 2006! maybe the shot callers should rather be looking at this year. i have a feeling people got clouded by his current form. well 2007 is for Essien. so all well and good if 2006 goes to the man DROG since next year is for Essien definately.

oh! sure the Ghana Black Stars deserve the honour! Best national team 2006. YEAH!

most definitely.
